Calloused hands,
Gentle heart.
There to guide me,
From the start.

Flock and family,
Under his command.
He guards his household,
He protects his land.

Wealth of wisdom,
He conveys.
I learned by watching,
His benevolent ways.

He tends to those,
Who are in need.
With a steady staff,
He takes the lead.

He walks by faith,
And not by sight.
That’s how he taught me,
Wrong from right.

The greatest gifts,
He ever gave.
Was how to be humble,
How to be brave.

The Good Shepherd loves,
Each one of his sheep.
They are part of his calling,
Promises to keep.

And when one of the flock,
is led astray.
His resonant voice,
Helps me find my way.
